Light up a DisplayRule for the Button
Next, we will add a ‘Display Rule’ by right clicking on it and selecting ‘Add New’. This rule will specify when to display the button and when not to.
We are going to click on Steps and we will be presented with a window. Selecting ‘Add’ brings up a second window where we select ‘Page Rule’ and click OK.

Now, here comes the actual trick. We will be providing the ‘Address’ of the page for which the Ribbon Button would be shown. Here we are going to display the button for the ‘Administration’ link under ‘Settings’.

Keeping the window open let’s head back to the Dynamics CRM portal. Click on ‘Administration’ and press F12 to bring up the IE Developer Window.

Click on the pointer icon and select the ‘Administration’ link. It will be highlighted with a blue border.

In the html markup that we can see, will copy the line beginning with the anchor tag (<a tabIndex=”0″…..) and paste it in notepad. Locate the attribute “url”. Now you will find that the URL also contains the Organisation name; we won’t need that, so we will be copying only the part “/tools/Admin/admin.aspx”.
