If you have been browsing through the Dynamics CRM 2013 online version recently, you might have noticed some differences between the online and the on-premise. The online version looks more clean and has an aesthetic look. Well, finally it’s time to have those changes in your on-premise version with some really important fixes as well. Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2013 Update Rollup 1 for On-Premise is finally out! And as usual, it’s time for me to get my hands on it and have it installed! Those using CRM 2013 Online already had the updates released sometime back before the one for On Premise was released. See the Official Microsoft KB Article for details released on December 17, 2013. Rollup 1 was already introduced for the online version on December 11, 2013.
Installing the CRM 2013 Update Rollup 1
It took me a tad longer to have the rollup installed compared to what CRM 2011 rollups took.
The version number changed to 220.127.116.11 after successful installation. After the installation was done it was time for me to have a look into what’s changed!
Installing the Update Rollups for the Reporting Services would be the same as that for the Server.
Changes after installing Rollup
As expected, the interface had changed and it was a lot more clear, prominent and aesthetic thus imparting better readability. This is how CRM 2013 interface looked before and after the rollup installation.
And yes, if anything went wrong you can uninstall this update. But you’re better off taking a database backup in case anything goes fishy.
I still haven’t got the chance to go through CRM in detail after the rollup was installed; and I’ll be exploring. There are tons of other improvements and fixes provided with this rollup. For details, please look into the Official Microsoft KB Article.
Feel free to post your thoughts and feedback in case you have gone ahead with this installation. Happy upgrading!
